A key element of the Helmholtz Graduate School Environmental Health (HELENA) is to promote the international network of graduate students. Your opportunity: 1,500 € for international conferences and 3,000 € for research stays!
HELENA supports active participation of its members at international conferences with up to 1,500 €. Graduate students must present a poster or talk.
Research stays abroad expand your horizons. In other labs you can learn new techniques essential for your doctoral work, gain new insights into research areas and exchange ideas with international colleagues. Established international networks will help you a lot at numerous stages of your career. International experience is one of the key factors for many positions in academia and industry and important for the successful application for many research grants. The sooner you begin building your network, the better. HELENA will support graduate students with up to 3,000 € for this purpose. If the number of applications are very high, HELENA reserves the right to award the funding for research stays in a competitive manner. Graduate students can apply for a research stay abroad only one time.
After the research stay, we ask the graduate student to provide a short report of their research stay for marketing purposes.
