ABSTRACT

TARGET GROUP & CONTENT

All life science students with interest in pharmaceutical industry. During academic routine work it is often hard to imagine how daily routine business in pharmaceutical companies looks like. What are typical jobs in industry and what are general expectations from companies that hire young professionals? Another question which a lot of graduate students ask themselves: does industry play an alternative role in my upcoming career? Since industry represents a strong regulated environment a lot of guidelines and laws play important roles in proceeding here, therefore this complex environment may appear deterrent. This workshop is delivering a complete overview of all relevant departments of a pharmaceutical company and will illustrate where life scientist are able to apply and what are the main requirements, coming from legal aspects and from company expectations. Since every pharmaceutical company has to be inspected by national and international authorities, this event displays a crucial issue for the company. Passing this audit decides about business continuation or stop. A lot of German pharmaceutical companies experienced that painfully. This workshop will also show in detail how to prepare for these audits and will use an interactive role play in the end in order to train auditing and being audited as perfect preparation for getting started in pharmaceutical industry. Here participants will establish an own pharmaceutical product and company which will be audited by other participants who will take over the role of GMP inspectors.
