Dear Graduate Students,

 

Please be informed that there are free places for the “Introduction to R” courses.  R is a powerful statistical software commonly used in academia.

 

Please notice that we will close the application phase on January 07th. Afterwards, we will decide on who is allowed to participate. The date of actual registration will not be the only criterion for a successful application. Please make sure that your supervisor agrees on your application on January 07th. For this she/he needs to click on the acceptance link in the email she/he receives once you apply.

7.2.12 Introduction to R

 

Your profit:           The participants will be taught how to get started with R and will achieve a basic understanding how R is working. This course does not require any previous knowledge of statistics or programming.

 

Topics:                    This introductory course in R covers basic data structures and routines, such as dealing with vectors, matrices and datasets. Application of statistical methods will be covered in the course “Introduction to Statistics”.

 

Requirements:     Basic computer skills
IMPORTANT: Please bring your own laptop and install R and R Studio before (available in the HMGU Software Kiosk) You need to have administrator rights on this computer.

 

Methods:               The course consists of lessons how to use R and of hands-on examples with best-practice solutions.
