Dear Graduate Students,
We are pleased to announce this year’s upcoming annual Graduate Students’ Day, which is taking place on December 4, 2018. On this auspicious occasion, we are celebrating you, the HELENA graduate students. We will take this opportunity to encourage networking and to recognise many of your outstanding contributions to the scientific community.
We are delighted to announce that our keynote speaker will be Professor Dr. Henriette Uhlenhaut.
Prof. Uhlenhaut is head of the research group Molecular Endocrinology at the Helmholtz Zentrum München (IDC) and Professor of Metabolic Biochemistry and Genetics at the LMU Department of Biochemistry. Her research focuses on mechanisms of transcriptional regulation of metabolic homeostasis by nuclear hormone receptors.
In her keynote speech, she will talk about her career to date and provide valuable insight into the journey leading to her current position. Following her talk, there will be time for discussion.
The Graduate Students’ Day is taking place on December 4, 2018, from 12:30 pm to 6:30 pm in the Auditorium, Building 23 at the Neuherberg campus. Attendance and participation is mandatory for all HELENA graduate students. Please click here to view the agenda.
During the celebration, several outstanding dissertations will be awarded with the Graduate Students' Award. The Award is supported by the “Friends and Supporters of the Helmholtz Zentrum Müchen” (Vdff) and HELENA, and is sponsored by the Münchner Bank. During the event, a graduation ceremony will take place for the graduate students who have completed their thesis in 2017/2018. We will also hold the voting session for the Graduate Student Representatives.
Childcare options may be organized on demand. Please contact us before November 5, 2018 if you would like to take advantage of this opportunity.
We are looking forward to welcoming you at this year’s Graduate Students’ Day!
