Stephan Herzig new HELENA spokesperson

Prof. Dr. Stephan Herzig has taken over his duties as the new spokesperson for the Helmholtz Graduate School Environmental Health (HELENA) on 1 November 2016. He joins the ranks of previous spokespersons Prof. Dr. Hans-Werner Mewes and Prof. Dr. Oliver Eickelberg.

Prof. Dr. Stephan Herzig

Stephan Herzig heads the Institute for Diabetes and Cancer (IDC) at Helmholtz Zentrum München. Previously he was head of the Division Molecular Metabolic Control at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg. Herzig holds the chair "Molecular Metabolic Control," at the Technical University Munich as well as an Honorary Chair at the University of Heidelberg.  

"Our research would be inconceivable without outstanding doctoral students," Herzig says. He has confidence in the proven concept of HELENA when it comes to train young scientists for academia, industry, and administration. "The supporting pillars are the Thesis Committees and the diverse range of courses, coupled to a world-class research environment" Herzig continues.
