Gebhard Wulfhorst began taking advantage of cross-border cooperation in the development of integrated land-use and transport strategies during his PhD and Postdoc phases. Together with colleagues from multiple disciplines, he currently hosts the international and interdisciplinary doctoral research group on “Sustainable Mobility in the Metropolitan region of Munich”, the so-called mobil.LAB – funded by the Hans-Böckler-Foundation, at TUM. Based on multiple international contacts, projects, and networks, it has been possible to set up a successful proposal and consortium for the EIT Urban Mobility. Over the next decade, this important Innovation Community (KIC program) of more than 50 partners from academia and research institutions, public authorities and private business partners across Europe will provide many opportunities for international and intercultural cooperation. Beyond multiple innovation projects and business development activities, a Doctoral Training Network (DTN) encourages international exchange and networking activities for PhD candidates and supervisors. Insight on first-hand experiences and an outlook on future perspectives will be provided.

The event will take place in an informal setting on March 25, 5 p.m. at Vorhoelzer Forum in Munich. Snacks and drinks to be provided. Please register online in advance.
