Elisabeth-Gateff-Prize

The Society for Genetics awards the 3000 € Elisabeth Gateff Prize for outstanding doctoral theses once a year.

Interested scientists with an outstanding doctoral thesis can apply directly or be nominated by a third party up to one year after the doctorate.

Either the applicant or the proposer must be a member of the German Genetics Society.

The thesis, which may be written in German or English, must be in a field of genetics and must have been prepared predominantly in Germany or by a German PhD student abroad.

Applications/proposals must be submitted in electronic form and must include the dissertation text, an abstract explaining the significance of the work, a list of publications, and a curriculum vitae.

Applications/proposals may be submitted to the President of the German Genetics Society at any time (annual deadline June 30):
