All HELENA students are supported by a personal Thesis Committee. The Thesis Committee provides mentoring and guidance in the scientific project but also in questions concerning the personal career development.
The Thesis Committee is assembled by the graduate student within the first three months of the doctoral thesis, with support from the direct advisor. It consists of at least three advisors and generally comprises the following persons:
- The professional/ direct advisor
- The advisor at the University
- An independent, preferably external, expert
- An additional advisor (optional)
