8th Town Hall Meeting

All employees of Helmholtz Zentrum München are cordially invited to the next Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, July 16, from 9:00-10:30 am. The virologist Prof. Dr. Christian Drosten will be the guest speaker.

 

The Town Hall Meeting will again take place online via GoToWebinar. Following a message from Kerstin Günther and Matthias Tschöp, Christian Drosten, director of the Institute of Virology at the Charitè Berlin, will give his current assessment to the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 pathogen.

The Center’s scientific lectures will focus on the prevention of diabetes, causes of obesity, the influence of nutrients on the genome and a new approach to the treatment of asthma. Speakers will be Daphne Cabianca, Institute of Functional Epigenetics, Julia Esser-von Bieren, Institute of Allergy Research, Andreas Birkenfeld, Institute of Diabetes Research and Metabolic Diseases, Tübingen, and Matthias Blüher, Institute for Metabolic, Obesity and Vascular Research (HI-MAG). They will also introduce their respective institutes.

Matthias Meier, Helmholtz Pioneer Campus, will chair the meeting.
